God I love this book. Like really.
Howl's Moving Castle. Book book book.
The Miyazaki movie is good too, but almost a completely different story.

still, i decided to take the movie's adaptation of calcifer because he is so adorable

this is one of those "let's start a sketch" then 50 layers later...

i seem to draw more when i am under pressure to get other things done :I}

Aaaaah! I love the perspective, the guitar, the waistcoat, the magical-traveling-cloudy-swirl, the glassy green eyes, the pinky finger being poised with noble affectation...

I adore this book. It's one of my all-time favorites. I'm so happy to see a book version of Howl! And man, he is SO out to eat a young girl's heart.

I really love both on different levels. They are definitely different stories. I love the whole "war" aspect of the movie, how Howl is a warmonger, but the book's Howl is a lot more 3 dimensional. Pretty fanart; I love Calcifer's colors. <3

book > movie. every day. EVERY DAY. I am aghast at the number of fans of the movie who haven't read the book. Man, they gotta read dat thing. *sob* I read it because the movie was coming out and I ended up reading most of Diana Wynne Jones' books ;o; So amazing homg. Auuugh this picture is like amazing. I love the fluffy clouds, the perspective, CALCIFER. augh so much LOVE <3

Now that that's over, I totally love what you did with this picture! Great use of perspective and guitar omg. I like how you interpreted his blue and silver suit too! The lace is a fantastic touch; did you ever read House of Many Ways or was the lace unrelated to that?

anyway I am fangirling too much but I love this picture.
